About techwithadedayo
Where it all began
My path has always been grounded in the technology space. Why? Because I studied Computer Science at Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo. Right there and then, I developed a knack for networking and the inner workings of computer systems, but the knowledge passed on was more theoretical than we anticipated.
Fast forward to two years after graduation, I enrolled in a training program to learn programming skills—PHP and MySQL. The core idea was to first understand how websites work: HTML and CSS, before proceeding to the backend. This gave me a solid foundation in the world of programming.
Shortly after, I traveled to Northern Cyprus for my master’s degree and started developing websites using core PHP and MySQL as a freelancer for about three years. The projects included e-commerce sites, banking platforms, and brand websites.
Along the way, I started exploring Linux systems (Ubuntu specifically) and cybersecurity tools to expand my horizon. I picked up multiple skills like Python, Node.js, graphic design, MongoDB, among others—just to foster and deepen my understanding of technology.
I later relocated to South Africa and continued developing software for various clients, still as a freelancer.
Journey to DevOps
In 2020, I founded a company called Arguelater—an information technology company based in Nigeria—focused on building software solutions for both small and large-scale businesses.
In 2021, I was invited by a colleague to work on deploying an application outsourced by a company called Bitrowtech. I jumped on the opportunity, set up their infrastructure, and deployed it on bare-metal VMs. I quickly fell in love with the process—and that marked the beginning of my journey into DevOps.
By 2022, due to the immense knowledge I had amassed, I was employed by another company to help set up their infrastructure to support over 600,000 customers.
Currently, I work with Spiro Mobility, an electric vehicle company, alongside other brilliant engineers to deliver world-class infrastructure for EV solutions across Africa.
TechWithAdedayo was born out of a desire to foster tech education among Nigerian youths who are eager to learn new skills, start a career in DevOps engineering, or adults seeking to transition careers and better support their families.
There is a significant shortage of DevOps and technical education in Nigeria. TechWithAdedayo was created to bridge that gap by providing masterclasses and mentorship to aspiring professionals.
My hobbies include drawing, taking long walks, traveling, and reading.
